#353 - Daughter of Time ~ Sarah Woodbury

Kindle Store > Books > Fiction > Fantasy > Historical
Published by The Morgan Stanwood Publishing Group (March 2013)

Description:

A medieval man with an uncertain destiny, Llywelyn, the Prince of Wales, faces treachery and deceit at the hands of friends and foes alike ...

A modern woman with a troubled past, Meg's life is in tatters when she slips through time and into medieval Wales ...

Only by working together can Meg and Llywelyn navigate the shifting allegiances that threaten the very existence of Wales and create their own history that defies the laws of time.

Product Details:

A new release that I downloaded for free at Amazon.  At the time of writing it's still available for free HERE.

Appropriate for readers from young teens to adults and is a prequel to the After Cilmeri series, which I think was written after the event to give fans the back story.  The series also includes:

Footsteps in Time
Winds of Time
Prince of Time
Crossroads in Time
Children of Time
Exiles in Time

353 pages (470 KB)

You will see above that the classification doesn't mention Romance, but it would be appropriate quite frankly, as well as tagged as a Family Saga.

Summary and thoughts:

Coming late to this series, i.e. downloading the prequel (which apparently has been written after the event of the series), I have to admit to being very pleasantly surprised.

If this is the standard of writing, I will most definitely be download the whole of the series in the next couple of days .... I've already added them to my Want to Read shelf at Good Reads.

Excellent, characterisation, pace of plot, and it left me very much wanting more, more and more.

Rating:

I found it difficult to put down, and worried at the end that Llewelyn and Meg had lost each other, he would never see his child and that he would end up being killed at a specific date .... even worse, my birthday.  The very fact that I fully bought into their lives, wants wishes and futures even, meant it was truly excellent writing.  A big fat 5 stars from me.  Get it (especially as it is on free download at the moment), read it ..... and hopefully you will love it too.

Errors/Bug Bears:

If there was anything I certainly didn't notice.  Now, that's the sign of an excellently delivered product by the author - kudos to her.  It also follows on quite nicely with my next review, which I should get around to writing tomorrow!

Hugs

Kay
