*Introducing a New Author to the Blog*
Shenandoah Sisters (Book 1)

Since reading The Help the other day, I quite like the feel of the Deep South ... so today I went for this one (I'm not being put off the the Religious tag, as quite often it can be deceiving.

Two young Southern girls, one the daughter of a plantation owner and one the daughter of a slave, barely survive the onset of the Civil War and the loss of both their families. When these tragic circumstances bring them together, they join forces to discover if they can make a life for themselves. As their preconceptions give way to experience, they gradually learn to value their contrasting and complementing strengths and skills as they face the formidable task of keeping body and soul together in the aftermath of this devastating war. But is it possible the Lord they have come to know has something bigger in mind for the plantation than either of them can imagine?

It's currently available HERE as free Kindle Download at Amazon.

My Daily Selection for Free Kindle Download at Amazon

Kindle Store > Fiction > Religious
Indie Writer (Self-published)
New Author

I do want to try and push the boundaries of the reading experience, and I've therefore been thinking about featuring this one for some time.  I'm not particularly religious, and I don't generally go out of my way to pick books that are religious.  However, after I read the description for the book it struck me that it was quite a unique idea, and I've been wondering if the author's attempt at it was any good.

So, cutting to the chase I have decided to feature it after all:

What if a seed from that original Tree, from that original Garden (that same Tree from which Eve was said to have partaken) was discovered? What if that seed must be held beneath the tongue for a year and a day before it would sprout? What if that sprouted seed grew into a Tree, and what if that Tree bore fruit? What if we could taste that fruit and know?

Now, open your mouth and close your eyes, and humankind will get a big surprise....

I appreciate that it won't be for everyone, but if you feel that you'd like to give it a chance click HERE to download.  There have only been 6 Reviews so far, but they seem balanced and it has earned an average of 4.5 stars, so it can't be all bad!

By the way I'm no longer going to include "*NEW AUTHOR" at the top of any relevant post, I will be adding it under the classification for the book below the cover image.  I think I will also stop including it in the label as well, which will save me a little bit of time.

On Amazon today my rating is (<) to 4,552. I suppose that I'm still heading in the right direction, but very slowly now. I would love to get to the top 1,000 Reviewers' some day ....... so if you find the Daily Kindle Downloads info useful please go over to my Reviews on Amazon and leave me some positive feedback  on some of my reviews (which helps my rating, and will earn you my grateful thanks).

My Daily Selection for Free Kindle Download at Amazon

Kindle Store > Books > Fiction > Historical > Romance > Religious

This cover caught my eye, so I decided I'd give it a go for today's selection:

All alone on the Kansas prairie, Summer Steadman has few options. With her husband and children lost to illness, she has no desire to continue on farther west to where she and her husband planned to build their future. Instead, she seeks employment in a small Mennonite community in order to be near the graves of her family.

Widower Peter Ollenburger, the local gristmill owner, needs someone to teach his young son. When he hears of a "learned woman" in town, he believes she is the answer to his prayers. He soon discovers, however, that helping this outsider may have troublesome consequences.

There is little this father will not do for his son, but as the boy begins to look at Summer as more than a teacher, Peter must make a choice. Does he marry this woman to give his son a new mother, or does he marry only for love?

Will Summer's broken heart ever be able to love again?

Don't be put off by the "religious" tag, we've had books like that before that still turned out to be very good.  With 17 reviews and 5 stars like it could be a reasonable read.  Click HERE to get the download.

On Amazon today my rating is (<) to 5,435.  I suppose that I'm still heading in the right direction, but very slowly now.  I would love to get to the top 1,000 Reviewers' some day .... so if you find the Daily Kindle Download info useful please go over to my Reviews on Amazon and leave me some positive feedback - which helps my rating, and will earn you my grateful thanks.

My Daily Selection for Free Kindle Download

Kindle Store > Books > Fiction > Religious Fiction
Published by Ravell

I changed my mind from last night (a woman's prerogative , and went with this one instead.  It's listed as Number 1 in Religious Fiction and #109 in Free List.  With over 200 reviews, and reading between the lines, you'll either love this Mills & Boon'esque romance or hate it, don't be put off by it's classification above though as there is a witch craft element in there.

The only way to judge is to try it, and so I've downloaded it this morning (as with all my freebie selections) and it will sit waiting patiently on my Kindle until I get to it. You can find it available as a free download HERE .

Despite the fact that I found time to add a review on Amazon yesterday, my rating has gone down too 6,970 today (<), although I should not really complain as overall I am heading in the right direction.  I would love to get to the top 1,000 Reviewers' some day .... so if you find the Daily Kindle Download info useful please go over to my Reviews on Amazon and leave me some positive feedback - which helps my rating, and will earn you my grateful thanks.
