#377 - The Viscount's Midsummer Mistress

The Viscount's Midsummer Mistress The Viscount's Midsummer Mistress by Suzy Stewart Dubot

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a gentle and pleasant meander through a tale of the twists and turns of fate.

However, I should stress that whilst it was indeed gentle, it wasn't at any time boring.

I don't want to get accused again of spoiling the plot, so all I will say is that it's always nice to have a happy ending, where everything works out ticketyboo at just the right moment.

Happy am I to report that the English was of an acceptable quality, which makes a nice change these days, and there were only a very few actual errors/bug bears (as usual, you can find them listed towards the bottom of this post)

My only criticism is centred around the use of footnotes, which if they are pertinent to complicated pieces of historical information, etc., are useful, but in this case they were used to mark quite inconsequential bits of information ...... truth to tell, I found them a little condescending.

Other than that, well done to the Author, and a 3 star rating. I shall certainly read more by her.

Product Details:

This was one of my Daily Selections for Free Kindle Download on Amazon back in March 2013, and at the time of writing this post it's available HERE for £2.60.  Which is not an unreasonable price for this read given the quality of the product.

Please note that the cover image shown above is for the paperback version, and not the Kindle download on Amazon.  GoodReads didn't have the Kindle version on their list, and despite the fact that I'm a Librarian on there, I was too lazy to add one!!

Formatting error:

Between Burlington and Arcade there is some kind of weird grey block, which I would think is down to some kind of formatting error.

Happy reading.
