Short Story: From First Draft to Final Product by Michael Milton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
It started off with the bare, and potentially beautiful, bones of The Bathhouse story, which helped to win Michael Milton a place on a Masters Creative Writing Degree Programme.
It then went on to show the various line by line edits, and helpful tips from other authors with a second draft.
Then a few words of wisdom from the man himself.
BAM then we're hit with the the final draft of The Bathhouse, which is truly beautiful by the way.
For anybody looking to improve their creative writing this is a must have book, no wonder it was an Amazon Best seller.
I can see this as being an essential go to book, for a top up on the creative process, or simply to lift my spirits.

Excellent to purchase when you are preparing for a Controlled Assessment in GCSE English on Shakespeare's Macbeth.
Take note of all it offers, and it will help you boost your possible marks - perfect for secondary school students, or mature ones like me.
Highly recommended.

Macbeth by William Shakespeare
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Oh come on, it's never going to score higher than a 4 Stars from me ... it's a reference book! Although, as they go it was extremely useful.
I've not had the mark back for my Macbeth Controlled Assessment (AQA English GCSE) yet, but this was the reference book I used. Handy notes regarding the text on the facing page for each piece of the Act and Scene.
Without a doubt Mr Shakespeare wasn't just put on this earth to think up torture for future generations of children, he was an expert wordsmith.

I have a paperback version, which is now covered in pencil notes and highlighting as well, but you can get a copy of this HERE. The paperback version is listed for £6.18 and the Kindle file £3.79. On balance, if you are studying, then the paperback version would be a better bet.
Errors/Bug Bears:
Not one .... obviously!
Happy reading and/or studying.

Of Mice and Men: York Notes for GCSE by Martin Stephen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
It's simple no nonsense advise to help you go from a C grade to B or above.
It's all about manipulating and massaging the way you write to get the better grade, given of course that you actually understood it in the first place.
For what it's worth, and only in my humble opinion, essential reading if you are studying OMAM at GCSE level to give you a bit of a leg up.
I decided that the Kindle version was good enough for my purposes, but there could be a valid argument to having an actual hard copy book for this too - it really depends on what you feel more comfortable with when studying.
I like the fact that I can highlight relevant bits, and obviously it's cheaper than the little sticky note markers ..... incidentally, I used a ton of them in my actual OMAM book just marking the salient points for Curley's Wife ready for my controlled assessment!
I gave this 4 stars, as in reality it could have gone a little deeper to explain how to go about bagging an A* in greater depth.
You can purchase a copy HERE.
Happy reading.
