Description:
August Grayson has secretly dreamt of the girl living on his family’s Irish estate since childhoods spent together in Killarney. Now a proper Lord of the British Empire, he knows that Maeve could never be more than just a distant fantasy. Still, if only...
Maeve O’Connor owns nothing in this world but her good name, which proves just enough to win a proposal for a marriage of convenience to a good, Irish lad. Until the wedding, however, she’s in dire straits. Rent on the cottage she and her father share is due, but there simply isn’t the money to pay. Driven to desperation, Maeve hopes Lord Grayson, her childhood-chum-turned-dashing-English-rogue, will prove lenient when she comes seeking clemency.
The temptation presented proves too much, and August offers Maeve a compromise: should she permit him twice as long on each succeeding visit to do whatever he wishes in pursuit of his pleasure, he will consider her rent paid. Starting with a mere five seconds, pulses soon out race the ticking clock, as August’s desires become Maeve’s own. Passion blinds them to the challenges closing in on both the Irish and English fronts, threatening to destroy them both.
Working to bridge that which divides them, tempting fate with each stolen kiss, and torn between desire and obligation, Maeve and August must strive to overcome all and find a love by any measure.

Summary/thoughts:
This isn't that big a review. There isn't much to say really .... I enjoyed it, and it was good value for money.
On the whole it was well written, although I gained the impression that Maeve was just a bit too much of a victim for me. Still, maybe that was the point, she was a victim of her circumstances.
At the beginning August came across as a complete twerp, but my impression started to change about half way through the book. Again, maybe he was just as caught in the social hierarchy and dictates as she was? As well, he was toting around massive emotional baggage from his parents' marriage and the subsequent effect that had on his relationship with his Father.
There were a well stuffed fist full of errors/bug bears, some of which I overlooked, and the most annoying of which I've listed in my error section below.
As an aside, I am not sure that I particularly like the cover, it more of an overall contemporary feel that historical.
Rating:
All things considered, it would be a 4.5 rating from me. As it doesn't quite merit rounding up to 5, on Good Reads and Amazon we will round down to 4.
If it was error free probably I could have gone up to 5 stars though.
Errors/Bug Bears:
The ones that I really picked up on were:
3% - "He's short staff, ....". Either add in of or make it short staffed.
17% - "Miss Caroline told me herself that the first thing Lord Grayson did when their father died was come collect her". Capital letter for Father and come to collect her or just collect her.
"...and it pained him to leave her behind in England to come set up Shepherd's Bluff". It should be come and set up Shepherd's Bluff.
18% - "...drew her from her contemplating". Contemplation would be better.
Throughout the book there were also quite a few more examples of missing initial capital letters'.
Hugs
Kay
