I was very kindly sent a paperback copy of the book by Michelle, the Author, via the Good Reads Giveaway/First Reads system.
However, it is available on Amazon as a Kindle download HERE. Actually, at the moment it's a bargain at £2.63 .... but even at the usual listed price of £5.36 it would be cheap due to the quality of the writing.

Summary/thoughts:
As I mentioned above, Michelle (the Author) very kindly sent me a paperback copy via the Good Reads Giveaway/First Reads system. Apparently, Good Reads have recently been purchased by Amazon in case you weren't aware.
Even though the classification for this piece of fiction was listed as "political", don't let that put you off in any way whatsoever. It is so much more than that. Yes, it has a quite strong element of the political situation between Israel and the Palestinians in it. However, it doesn't preach and there is also family saga, self-discovery and even romance woven through it.
It's beautifully written in a flowing and lyrical style, with the underlying message that hope can eventually overcome adversity and what does not kill you will make you stronger.
You would go a long way to finding such a profound, educational and lyrical story. It moved was easy to read and me wanting to find out what happened from the very beginning. Characters' that were clearly developed and believable, that you could invest in.
Michelle Cohen Corasanti has a BA from Hebrew University in Jerusalem and a MA from Harvard University, both in Middle Eastern Studies. She also holds a law degree. A Jewish American, she has lived in France, Spain, Egypt and England, and spent seven years living in Israel. She currently lives in New York with her family. The Almond Tree is her first novel, and if this is the type of work she has produced as a first novel, I can wait to see what else she will write about in the future. Definitely an author who will be going places, and one to watch for the future. I am definitely a fan, which is saying something coming from primarily an Historical Romance fan!

Errors/Bug Bears:
Not a one, it was a beautifully delivered and quality product by Michelle and Garnet Publishing. As an aside, the quality of the pages was just lovely, the silkiest I have ever felt!
